Global News Scholarship - Winter 2023
IMPORTANT NOTE: To qualify for this scholarship, students must log into MyHumber, click on Student Awards and Financial Aid, and then choose Apply for Financial Aid.
Presented to a student in the second year of the Journalism advanced diploma program, who self-identifies as Black/ African, and has demonstrated excellence in their studies, and is involved in the community. Preference for a student who also self-identifies as having a disability and/or demonstrates financial need and/or is pursuing post-secondary studies for the first time.
The recipient must be a Canadian citizen or a Canadian permanent resident. This scholarship will be renewable for up to two years if the student continues to be enrolled in the journalism diploma program and maintains a minimum 75% GPA. If the student recipient is either no longer enrolled in the program or does not maintain at least a 75% GPA, the scholarship will be offered to a first-year student in the journalism diploma program according to the standard application process detailed above and is renewable for as long as the funds are available, and the scholarship criteria are met.
