Neola Veecock Memorial Scholarship

Presented to a student in the second semester of the Addictions and Mental Health program. The recipient will self-identify as a woman and a member of the Black/ African Community, demonstrate financial need, and have a good academic standing (GPA of 75%).

Neola Sacha Veecock passed away suddenly on April 25-2022 at the age of 37 years old She was a former student at Humber College and graduated in (2014) from the Social Service Worker Program. She was very passionate about continuing her education to become an Addictions Counsellor. However, her struggle with Mental Health, Addictions, and Domestic Violence hampered that dream. Her greatest accomplishment was being a loving.
We proudly honor the life and legacy of Neola, whose spirit, generosity, and unwavering commitment to community continue to inspire us. In her memory, the Neola Veecock Memorial Bursary Fund was established to support and uplift future generations—reflecting her deep belief in education, empowerment, and opportunity.

Neola’s light lives on not only through this meaningful fund but also through her beloved children — Kaziya, Nyessa, and Kazion — who carry forward her strength, compassion, and joy.
